Bona Wood Floor Polish is a ready-to-use, waterborne maintenance coating for lacquered and sealed (varnished) timber floors. It tops up the sheen and helps mask fine micro-scratches without lifting the gloss level.
Bona describes it as reinforced with polyurethane to refresh the surface and give continued protection against wear, so the fresh coat takes the daily traffic instead of the floor's own finish.

Not for oiled or waxed floors
Bona Wood Floor Polish is made for lacquered, sealed and varnished floors. On an oiled or waxed floor the surface is different, so the coating will not bond the same way.
If you are not certain what finish your floor has, test on a small, out-of-the-way patch and let it dry before doing the whole floor. Not sure which finish you have? Ask us before you start.

Scuffs, grit and foot traffic land on the polish, not on the lacquer underneath. When it eventually wears, you refresh the polish, not the whole floor.

Why Bona Polish
It fills the fine scratches that dull a floor
Micro-scratches in the lacquer scatter the light and read as a tired, worn patch. The polish flows into them and levels the surface, then cures to a fresh matt wear layer over the top.

Coverage
50 m² per litre
Bona notes roughly 50 m² of coverage per litre, so one bottle covers most rooms. Bigger or thirstier floors take a little less.
Fast drying
~1 hour to light traffic
Light foot traffic after about an hour. Add a second coat two hours after the first for more depth, and keep furniture and rugs off until the next day.
How to use
Prep, apply, then let it cure
- Clean the floor first. Vacuum or sweep, then clean the whole floor with a wood floor cleaner and let it dry. The surface must be clean so no dirt is trapped in the coating.
- Shake the bottle thoroughly.
- Apply a thin, even coat with a Bona Microfibre Applicator Pad, working with the direction of the grain. Do not over-apply, thin coats only.
- Let it dry a minimum of one hour before resuming light use of the floor.
- A second coat can be applied two hours after the first, if needed.

Do
- Clean and dry the floor first, so nothing is trapped under the polish.
- Apply thin, even coats with the grain, using a Bona applicator pad.
- Re-apply every 2 to 6 months, depending on how much traffic the floor gets.
Don't
- Use it on an oiled or waxed floor, it is for lacquered and sealed floors only.
- Apply too much, always thin, even coats.
- Apply over a dirty floor, walk on it before it is dry, or recoat sooner than two hours.
